Joncannon Eiden (he/him), MA
Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist #129533
About Myself
I am a psychotherapist in California and a native of San Diego. Throughout my life, I’ve been drawn to the fundamental questions that make up the human experience, such as how we can find meaning and purpose in the midst of suffering. These questions have guided me on my relational, educational, and spiritual paths. They have led me to my current profession, where I explore these questions both within myself and with others.
Education
I earned my Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Alliant International University and my Bachelor’s degree in History from the University of California San Diego. I hold three Associate of Arts Degrees, in Arts & Humanities, Social & Behavioral Sciences, and Liberal Arts & Sciences from Palomar College.
Training
In addition to my degrees, I have specialized training in Intensive Short Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP) with individuals and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples and families. These therapies aim to resolve emotional difficulties by identifying and addressing the root cause of problems. By working through deep emotional blocks, clients are able to achieve long-lasting and meaningful change. When appropriate, I can employ other types of therapies to best fit the needs of my client. Please feel free to ask if you are looking for a specific type of therapy.
Approach
I believe in and client-centered approach, where I work collaboratively with my clients to create an environment of safety, honesty, compassion, and understanding. As a therapist, I am here to support you and your family through any difficult situations you may be facing, and I’m honored to be a part of your journey toward healing.
I recognize that no one is perfect and that struggles are an inevitable part of life. With this in mind, I use therapeutic techniques that are designed to help you achieve your goals as effectively as possible. These techniques have been shown to be helpful with a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, substance abuse, eating disorders, personality disorders, psychosomatic symptoms, and interpersonal/relational problems.
Services
I offer therapy to individual adults, teens, and adolescents, as well as couples and families.
